Smart City Works brings governments, universities, businesses, and nonprofit organizations together to lead the Northern Virginia Smart Region Initiative. Our goal is to develop a dynamic smart city technology ecosystem that will support the creation of innovative products and solutions, tackle local urban challenges, and expand equitable community development in the region.
With the Go Virginia grant, Smart City Works is filling a much-needed gap in supporting high-growth technology start-ups, and SMEs in Northern Virginia. The $1.9 million grant aims to accelerate growth among these innovative tech-based companies and create sustainable commercialization pathways to spur near- and long-term economic development.
